Michael J. McGuire, PhD, PE, BCEE, is anIndependent Engineering Consultant . McGuire has worked for drinking water utilities and consulting firms advising water utilities throughout his 50-year career. 

 

He has worked for the Philadelphia Water Department the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and national consulting engineering firms. He founded McGuire Environmental Consultants, Inc., which he managed from 1992 to 2005. 

 

McGuire has been active in the American Water Works Association (AWWA) during his career and has received many AWWA awards. He is a widely published author, and he has edited six books and collections of works. McGuire has a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and MS and PhD degrees in Environmental Engineering from Drexel University.
