Zakir Hirani, PE, is a Vice President and Water Reuse Sector Leader for Stantec.  He has process design expertise in wastewater and advanced water treatment (AWT) for water reuse applications with emphasis on microfiltration, ultrafiltration, membrane bioreactors, and reverse osmosis processes. 

 

Some of his AWT projects include the City of San Diego’s Pure Water Program, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California’s Pure Water Southern California Program, City of Los Angeles’ Hyperion 2035 Program, and Palmdale Water District’s Pure Water Antelope Valley Program.  He has authored over 80 papers and publications in national and international conferences and peer-reviewed journals.

Hirani received a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering from the University of Baroda, India, and an MS in Environmental Engineering from the University of Southern California.
