Tzahi Cath, PhD, is a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Director of the Advanced Water Technology Center at Colorado School of Mines. His research focuses on novel and commercial membrane processes for wastewater treatment and reuse, which includes studying the performance and enhancement of on-site wastewater treatment using novel hybrid membrane bioreactors and sequencing batch reactors.

Part of Cath's research includes optimizing energy consumption, chemical use, and nutrient removal and novel membrane processes such as forward osmosis and pressure-retarded osmosis for multi-barrier treatment of wastewater for direct potable reuse. Other membrane research looks at specialized processes for desalination and harvesting minerals from desalination concentrate.

Cath has an MS and PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from University of Nevada, Reno.
