Shane Snyder, PhD, is the José Domingo Pérez Foundation Chair and Professor at Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), in Atlanta.  His research focuses on environmental engineering and sustainability, which has resulted in over 300 published manuscripts with over 41,000 citations.

 

Snyder has served as a lead researcher for the Southern Nevada Water Authority in Las Vegas and as a Professor and Center Director at the University of Arizona. He also held faculty and leadership positions at both the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) for over 13 years.

 

He is the Editor-in-Chief for the American Chemical Society journal, Environmental Science & Technology Water, is a Fellow of the International Water Association, and is a Board-Certified Environmental Scientist (BCES) by Eminence for the American Academy of Engineers and Scientists.

 

Snyder has received numerous awards, including the 2021 Clarke Prize. In August 2025, he was chosen to lead the Agilent Technologies Center of Excellence at Georgia Tech, which will focus on environmental health and engineering. He has served on expert panels and advisory boards for the EPA, the World Health Organization, NWRI, and projects around the world.
